Join the mission

From research to product — intelligence that moves, and systems people can use.

We close the gap between language and physics in robotics — a research-to-product company turning lab work into tools and systems that hold up in the real world.

Fully remote for now, based in Assam, India. If you care about embodied intelligence and building things that work, we want to hear from you.

How we work

Research to product

Ideas start as experiments and end as tools others can run — benchmarks, open frameworks, and systems on a path to deployment.

Publish openly

We release frameworks, datasets, and findings as they mature. Credit is shared; secrecy is the exception.

Build in the loop

Simulation, analytical models, and hardware inform each other. Nothing is done until it has been stressed against real constraints.

Safety by design

Physical feasibility, human proximity, and failure modes are architectural concerns — not afterthoughts before ship.

Open roles

One open research collaboration — remote, unpaid, with a path to co-authorship on published work. We review every application carefully.

Robotics Software Engineer, Platform

Engineering · Remote · Unpaid · Research collaboration

Own core infrastructure: package distribution, CLI tooling, CI, dataset loaders, and integrations that turn Phukon research into products other teams can adopt and run in production.

This is not a paid role. You will work on active research with the core team, gain hands-on exposure to real embodied AI systems, and can earn co-authorship on papers published under your name for substantive contributions.

Apply

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the Praxis Python package: API design, Pydantic schemas, pip install paths, and developer documentation.
  • Build CI pipelines, regression tests, and release automation for frameworks and benchmarks.
  • Implement adapters for robot platforms and simulators without locking the stack to a single vendor.
  • Profile and optimize validation pipelines — analytical checks must stay fast enough for interactive use.
  • Support external contributors: issue triage, code review, and extension guidelines.
  • Contribute to research write-ups, experiment reports, and publications; co-authorship for meaningful technical work.

Qualifications

  • Any relevant engineering background — software, robotics, computer, electrical, mechanical, or allied fields.
  • Comfort building and shipping code; Python experience is a plus but not required if you can ramp quickly.
  • Interest in robotics, embodied AI, open-source tooling, or research-grade systems.
  • Pragmatic judgment and willingness to learn: we care more about how you think than a specific degree or years count.
  • Genuine interest in research collaboration: real exposure and co-authorship on published work, not a paid role at this stage.

Don't see your role?

We are always interested in researchers and engineers who want to take hard problems from the lab into working systems — embodied intelligence, constraint reasoning, and robotics that holds up in the field. Send a short note with your background and what you would want to build.
